Treat me mean and cruel...
...seriously, double unders are just a punishment to me!
WOD
For time:
Row 500 meters
150 Double-unders
50 Burpees
My time: 19:29
Breaking this down, my row time was about 2:09 ish, the double unders were about 13 minutes, and the remaining time was spent on burpees, which were misery, as well. I am trying my heart out on the double unders, but they just eat me up. The only thing good about them is I occasionally get the giggles because I know how silly I look. Today I wasn't laughing though - just trying like hell to get through them.
But in every cloud there is a silver lining, right? Well, today our strength component was deadlifts, which I just love, and I reached a new 5 rep max today!
Deadlifts:
Warm up sets -
2 @ 155
5 @ 185
3 @ 195
2 @ 205
Work Sets -
2 x 5 @ 215
Time was running short so I didn't get in a third set, but I am glad I moved up to 215. Have to really concentrate on my form!
TGIF! Bring on the weekend and pass me a cold beer!!

Just for the record, I DESPISE double unders.
ReplyDeleteBut I'll do me some burpees all day long.
Believe it or not, the burpees were a welcome relief - the proverbial "light at the end of the tunnel", although, they are still misery in my book!
ReplyDeleteWow, nice deadlifts! You are my inspiration -- just did a 3RM of 170, and 2RM of 175, and I'm itching to do much more.
